My First Find

Today I took the family down some country roads just west of Chattanooga. We were looking for anything of interest along the way and I was also navigating on streets that would pass near a river or a creek.

We passed over a two lane bridge over the Sequatchie river and it looked promising. The bank was not accessible and the river was about 30 feet below the bridge. The river varied in depth from probably a couple of feet to where I could not see the bottom. I decided to throw the magnet a few times if nothing else because we needed some time out of the car.

Of course I forgot to take a picture of the river and bridge, but to give you an idea of the types of roads we were on look at the picture below.

Within a few tosses I began to bring up these things:

They appear to be some sort of bolts, but they don't have threads. The larger item appears to be the 'key' used to twist the smaller items.

They appear to have been been in the water a long time as they were pretty crusted. Because they all came up from the same area, it makes me think someone dumped out a tool bag either on purpose or on accident.

If you know what these are, please leave a comment and let me know. Until next time, happy fishing.
